2022 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

Winner of the Motor Trend's IntelliChoice Smart Choice Award among mid-sized utility vehicles in the Repairs class, the fuel-efficient Outlander PHEV is recognized as having overall lower-than-average maintenance costs.

A Plug-in Hybrid

The Outlander PHEV combines hybrid power and performance with incredible fuel economy. Stretch every dollar and leave a smaller footprint with a battery range of up to 39 km on a full charge.

Effortless EV

The vehicle automatically switches between 100% electric drive and electric/engine hybrid drive to provide optimal efficiency and power. So you can simply enjoy the drive.

Charge and Go

The Outlander PHEV gives you the freedom to explore on your own terms, with plenty of options to power up and go - including regular 120V household outlets, 240V charging stations and even DC quick-charging stations.

Efficient Power

Power and performance. Both come standard in the Outlander PHEV, with an incredible efficiency at 3.2Le/100 KM combined.

Performance

Advanced technology in the Outlander PHEV provides superior performance, handling and control - all with eco-friendly efficiency. The Outlander PHEV’s Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system and its unique twin electric motors deliver maximum traction and control in all driving conditions.

The Outlander PHEV System automatically switches between electric and gas power to deliver exceptional on-demand performance and an outstanding 3.2Le/100 KM efficiency combined:

EV Drive Mode

In EV Mode, the vehicle is powered by twin electric motors and energy is sourced exclusively from the lithium-ion battery pack on the Outlander PHEV. That's 100% electric-powered, zero-emission driving.

Series Hybrid Mode

In Series Hybrid Mode, the gas-powered generator helps charge the lithium-ion battery pack to provide energy to the twin electric motors. The Outlander PHEV uses this mode when its battery runs low or when you need a quick burst of speed.

Parallel Hybrid Mode

In situations that call for a little extra juice – like uphill driving – the Outlander PHEV switches into Parallel Drive Mode. In this mode, the 2.4L gas engine drives the front wheels while the rear electric motor drives the rear wheels.

Safety

The Outlander PHEV boasts an innovative suite of safety features, many of which come standard. It’s the result of our passion to create the safest vehicles possible, and our commitment to prioritize safety above all else.

7 Standard Airbags

The Outlander PHEV also provides added passive protection with seven airbags – two front airbags, two front seat-mounted airbags, two side curtain airbags, plus one driver knee airbag.

Multi View Camera System (MVCS)

The cameras mounted on the front, rear and sides provide a 360° view so that you can park with confidence and ease.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

The Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) system lets you know if a vehicle is approaching from either side. The warning lights on both side mirrors will blink, a buzzer will sound to alert you and a warning message will appear on the information screen of the multi-information colour display.

Blind Spot Warning (BSW)

When a vehicle approaches your blind spot, a warning light in the corresponding side mirror illuminates. If your turn signal is also on, the warning light blinks and the system beeps three times, signifying it is unsafe to change lanes.

Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM)

If the system detects a car or pedestrian in front of the vehicle through the front radar and camera, a warning appears. If brakes are still not applied and the risk of collision is imminent, Forward Collision Mitigation applies the brakes.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) employs radar technology to judge distances between you and the vehicle ahead, helping you maintain a safe driving distance. If the car moves out of your lane or goes beyond your set speed, the system will resume your set speed.
